We currently have a grip of fine Celtic music in our fair city, including world class musicians. Literally world class, not only because they hail from other parts of the world, but also because they have played and continue to play in other parts of the world. Not only that, but Lincoln musicians travel to folk and world music festivals regionally, and if you have never been, there are people playing songs in the parking lot all night long that could replace those on the main stage. It’s just how it works, and Lincolnites (Lincolns? Links? Lincos?) are dug in jamming at lightning speed.
Anyway, we need an Irish Music Festival. The reason I’m posting this is because I need your help. Not as a volunteer, well not yet, but more for your ideas about how to do it. We have the talent, and there are plenty of outdoor venues with storied history of live performances, but which is the right one? There are particular requirements as well such as insurance, which can get $$$, and other liabilities. Booze is imperative, a stage, a fence, and yes, volunteers…it goes on, suffice to say. So let’s get the conversation started, and it starts with you. Slainte Mhath
